Do you already know The Robot Scientists? These are three guys who are real Synth Disco / NuDisco enthusiasts from Germany. The really love  recent “Cosmic” NuDisco tracks and 1983 & 1984 italo / proto-house / techno-dance & synth wave tracks and are also passionate DJ’s, manic vinyl collectors and of course real “scientists”. Theses guy have edited and remixed quite a few known tracks and also have made some seriously cool mixes. Summer is barely over and the next Italo party has already been planned!  On the 29th of October KEN LASZLO will be performing at 330Live in The Hague, Netherlands. Of course this is not to be missed and you can buy tickets via the website www.330live.nl.  There is a limited amount of tickets available so make sure you don’t miss out! Besides the main act there will some great DJ’s like Peet Neet and Savino spinning  throughout the night.

This new show will host 80′s classics mixed by Gino from i Venti d’Azzurro. In one hour you can hear famous, not so famous, very unknown and obscure Italo, disco and dance classics. The very first show is scheduled for coming sunday. More soon!!!

Hi all!

Maurizio Dami is an Italian music producer who started making music in 1981. In 1983 he attains international popularity under the name Alexander Robotnick with his track “Problemes d’amour” which became a cult track of dance music. After that his music carried on in different styles, from World Music to Ambient. In 2002 he turned back to Electro and since then he has gotten into DJ-ing. His DJ-Sets cover different styles of music and besides Italo Disco and New Wave from the 80′s he plays the most interesting tracks of contemporary Electro-House and Progressive-House. I had the privilege of seeing him in Paradiso, Amsterdam and I can tell you it was an amazing set! If you are over 60 years old and spin the night away like that, respect!

So that’s why I would like to share one of Robotnicks mixes with you. You might know it but anyhow it’s worth turning up the volume high and experience how the DJ set in Amsterdam may have sounded.

Tonights edition of the weekly ‘On The Beats Tonight’ Italo mix is a tribute to Mauro Farina. Farina produced, arranged, wrote and sung hundreds of Italo hits between the late seventies and today.
In tonights mix (at 20.00 CET) every song was sung by him. You will hear songs from DANNY KEITH, AKI, DeNIRO and ATRIUM. Don’t let the artists names confuse you; it’s all Mauro Farina’s voice.

The mix starts with a surprisely song called ‘Mauro Farina’ by MIKROFISH. Many thanks to Ivy for giving me that great song.
